"The 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva is laced with sweet dark cherry, rose petal, licorice, orange peel and cinnamon. Deceptive in its mid-weight structure, the 2017 offers quite a bit of intensity in a translucent style that is quite appealing. The substantial finish suggests the 2017 will enjoy a decade or more of positive development in the cellar.

"The Il Molino di Grace 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva is a mild and subtle expression with a soft approach that segues to wild berry, cherry and rose. This wine that sees a mix of Slavonian oak casks, French barrique and tonneaux aging shows pretty floral aromas with blue violets and dried lavender buds. There are background tones of dried Mediterranean herb and crushed stone. This is one of the more tonic and elegant wines I encountered from the hot 2017 vintage." - Monica Larner
